A Quick Goal Update

(Whoa. That widget is really, um, big. It’s part of a new thinga-ma-jiggie that BlogHer is testing out, and I agreed to be part of the guinea pig group. Worry not, though…that survey is only going to be on this post.)

On to goals. I should have updated you a while ago, so I’m squeezing in an extra post today along with the Food Waste Friday one.

Ok! Here’s the new set of goals for this week:

1. Update Quicken.

2. Exercise 4 days.

I’ve been doing quite well with this!

3. Write a letter to my grandpa.

Yup! And I even included some pictures.

4. Sell my broken camera lens.

Done. I sold it for almost 2/3 of the price of the new one, which is amazing. And wonderful.

5. Take care of the credit card situation.

No. So forgot about this!

6. Make a birthday present for Zoe.

Yup. That was her fuzzy whale blanket.

7. Declutter the office bookshelf.

I did! I gave quite a few books away, freecycled some, and sold some.

8. Finish shopping for Mr. FG’s and Zoe’s birthdays (they share a birthday, which is in a little over a week).

Ha. I obviously got this done, seeing as their birthdays were about two weeks ago.

9. Get my email inbox down to white-space level every day.

I’ve been keeping up pretty well with this.

10. Make a blog plan for February.

Ok. This time I’m really going to try to get all of these done in a week instead of waiting almost a month to update again!

1. Update Quicken.

2. Do a money email for March.

3. Exercise 4 days.

4. Maintain white space in my Outlook inbox.

5. Take care of the credit card situation (we need to close one and open another joint one)

6. Plan an anniversary trip with Mr. FG

It’s our 15th anniversary this year, so we’re trying to plan a kid-less getaway. 😉

7. Finish reading Eat That Frog and All the Money in The World

8. Finish planning church worship music for March.

9. Make a March blog plan.

10. Finish the Why I Homeschool post and actually publish it.

You did a great job on your goals :) I've been posting goals, kind of monthly, but am re-thinking that. Since I make lists daily, weekly goals may be a better idea to keep me on track. Hmmm. I'll have to think on that and figure out where I can fit those into my blog plan (which is the only thing I haven't yet committed to paper - opps!)

Anyway, Have a great week, meeting goals and having fun :)

I am always looking for ways to save money and reading books about it is one way I get ideas. I clicked on your link to "All the Money in the World" and was intrigued by what I read so, needless to say, I ordered the book and will be getting it by 3/8! I can't wait to start reading it and applying ideas from what I read to my life!

Woo hoo! Just to be transparent, it's not a book of tips for a frugal life (there are a few). It's about using money mindfully in the pursuit of happiness -- something I think one can do on any income.

Did you two ever figure out how to use Mr. FG's raise? I'd like to hear more about that, if you're willing to share, please.

I'm looking forward to hearing more about homeschooling too (ok, and All the Money in the World, but hey). And I think I need to make a goal list and start holding myself accountable for it. Life has been very busy lately, but it's easy to use that as an excuse to not exercise as frequently as I should, or tackle other personal priorities.

I've begun posting goals on my own blog as well. It's actually pretty handy-- it helps me clarify in my mind what it is that I want to accomplish this week, and reporting on my progress motivates me to actually make some progress... ;)

I'm really looking forward to the homeschooling post.
