Recently, a company called Tomons emailed to see if I would do a giveaway for them. Among other things, they make sturdy wood and metal desk lamps with a fun, classic/retro style.
I knew Joshua would really enjoy having one of these lamps, and I thought one of you would too!
The Scandinavian desk lamp comes unassembled, but it takes about 5 minutes and very little skill to put it together, so don’t let that scare you. 😉
All of the parts, down to the nylon-coated cord, are simple yet sturdy, so I think this lamp will serve Joshua well for lots of years.
Since there are three points of adjustment, you can make this lamp fit your space perfectly. And since the joints can be tightened by hand, the lamp stays just the way you like it.
My only quibble with the design is that the switch is on the cord rather than on the lamp itself. It’d be slightly more convenient to have an on/off switch right on the lamp itself. But this doesn’t seem to be bothering Joshua at all, so take that complaint with a grain of salt. 😉
And I love the classic, retro look of the lamp. It reminds me a bit of the Pixar lamp, and it fits perfectly with Joshua’s style.
Tomons sells this design on Amazon ($36.99)and they also have a similar swing arm lamp ($34.99), which comes in black, white, and a delightfully retro shade of green.
One of you will get a Scandinavian desk lamp for free, though!

Thanks for your review. After some months of use, are you still satisfied with that lamp or are there some additional comments you would like to make? Is the lamp strong enough to be used with heavier economic bulbs? What is the maximum height for the bulb so it does not come out of the lampshade?

The lamp is definitely strong enough to hold any bulbs that fit the recommended wattage.
If you'd like the bulb to not stick out past the lamp shade, I'd recommend looking for a bulb like a ceiling fan light bulb. Those are typically shorter.
