Are you wondering where the “Grocery Spending” part is? Well, as I mentioned yesterday, my camera and I have been traipsing all over the place this week and instead of grocery shopping on Thursday, I took a road trip to visit a friend in the hospital and to take pictures for her.
Usually when something like that happens, I go shopping on Friday. But yesterday I practiced with my violinist friend, took Joshua to his friend’s house for a sleepover(he lives an hour away), and then had a photo session shortly after I got home. So, while I’ve managed to cook dinner and get school with the kids done, I haven’t had any blocks of time long enough to go to the store (not to mention plan a menu and make a list!).
At times like these, I’m really glad that I usually plan my menu more than a week ahead of time. Even though I’m now four days late with planning my menu (I usually do it on Wednesdays, and it’s Saturday now), I still have a meal planned for tonight.
That’s the last meal that was planned, though, so I put a new menu together this morning. Some of the recipes on here got bumped AGAIN this week (Chicken Risotto and Tandoori Chicken, I promise I will make you this week), because I opted for easier meals on busy days.
Saturday
- Thin Crust Pizza
- green salad
Sunday
- Blueberry Muffins
- Bacon
- OJ
- orange slices
Monday
- Grilled Bratwurst on buns
- grapes
- potato chips
Tuesday
- Tandoori Chicken
- Zucchini Patties
- Garlic Pull-Apart Bread (recipe is coming on Wednesday!)
Wednesday
- Tacos
- fruit salad
Thursday
- Chicken with Parmesan Risotto
- green salad
Friday
- I’m not sure yet. We’re having friends over, and I need to find out about some dietary restrictions before I decide on the menu.
So, that’s the meal plan. I’m going grocery shopping after breakfast, so check back later today to see if I managed to spend only $74.
