For tea sandwiches

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I post a picture and just a few words.

Shaped bread baked in Pampered Chef tubes.

When I was a teenager, I bought a set of shaped bread tubes after I attended a Pampered Chef party.

(Because, you know, that’s  totally normal teenage behavior.)

I used them a little more when I had time to bake just for fun, but every now and again, I pull them out because they make bread that is perfect for little open-face sandwiches.

I still have not quite mastered the art of filling them evenly enough to prevent spillage, though. (It’s a little bit complicated, because the star mold can hold less dough than the other two shapes.)

Anyway, every time I make these, at least one of the loaves rises so much while it’s baking, the lid pops off and carries some dough with it.   Which is actually ok, because there’s always someone around who wants to snack on the renegade bread.   😉

I’m not sure if Pampered Chef sells these anymore (it looks like they’re discontinued), but Norpro makes a set that looks a lot like mine.   And I see some Pampered Chef branded version are also available on Amazon.

Iโ€™ve used these for years, they make great bread for dips & sandwiches. I was told by a pampered chef consultant years ago to use canned biscuits in the tubes, once baked canโ€™t tell theyโ€™re biscuits. I always loved the hit pizza dip with this bread!! Oh so good!

I have been selling Pampered Chef for 16 years. I love those bread tubes. We do not sell them anymore. When my kids were younger, I would make bread in them and make little sandwiches for birthday parties. All the kids loved them!

Holy cat! I think I went to a pampered chef party as a teen! I think the mom I babysat for threw it, but still! I had totally forgotten about that.

Love it! I attended my first Pampered Chef party when I was a teenager as well. I bought one of the measuring cups that works best for peanut butter - as well as liquids and solids. I'm still using my purchase today, as well!

Well, we have more in common than just our names, then! ;)

That is absolutely adorable! I think I might have to stalk ebay to find them. It might encourage my picky daughter to bring sandwiches to school ;-)
