When you are into rewards and rebates, you never know what goodies might show up in your mailbox each day. Today, I got:
-a $25 L.L. Bean gift card from my Discover card*
-a $50 cash back rebate from my Chase grocery credit card*
-a $190 refund check from our mortgage escrow. Apparently they overestimated our taxes, and so we got an unexpected refund. I’m super excited about this! It will probably go into our sofa fund(we’re saving up for a new couch and chair, as ours have started to sprout holes).
Now, if the reimbursement check for my husband’s business trip to CA will just come through the mail in the next seven days, I will be a VERY happy frugal girl.
*I’ll do a post about my credit cards at some point, but I just want you all to know that I do use them responsibly…I only use them to buy things that are budgeted for, and I pay them off on time or slightly early each month. So, the rewards I get from them are an unmitigated bonus.

I just found your blog through msm. I am so glad a looked through and read this post, I too am a responsible credit card user who pays off the bill in full each month, and only use it on things we would buy anyway...we only use it to get the Reward points that I also use on gift cards. You are the first person I have found that also agrees that this is a wonderful idea!!! Now I can drop the guilt.
