Ugh.
I got the flu (or at least something like that) a month ago, was under the weather for over a week, and then got better in time for my Florida trip.
(yay for that!)
I got back from Florida, and was just getting back into the swing of things, and then Saturday night, I came down with a new flu-ish thing.
I’m a little annoyed with my body. Like, come on! I fed you yogurt and protein and endless fruits and veggies and I exercised you and I ate a WHOLE POUND of Brussels sprouts by myself last week, and this is the thanks I get?? You couldn’t, maybe, kick some germs for me?
(I kid, I kid. Kind of.)
Anyway.
I am feeling significantly better today than I was yesterday, so perhaps this is a shorter bug than the last one.
Hopefully I’ll be back at my keyboard soon, but I just wanted to let you know where I am in the mean time.
(specifically: in the living room, on the couch, binge watching Gilmore Girls on my laptop. Because if you can’t make yourself feel better, you can at least distract yourself.)

We're just emerging now from a three-month merry-go-round of sickness. Between monster headcolds and flu bugs, we just keep passing things back and forth. I'm so glad Spring is coming and with some warmer weather, I've been able to open my windows and let some freshness breeze through.
I hope you're feeling much better now! My go-to movie when I'm sick is Wizard of Oz lol.

Hope you feel better fast, Kristen! I'm a fan of both Brussels sprouts and Gilmore Girls, so good plan!
I can't find the post you wrote about it, but I wanted to thank you for the tip about bagging Aldi groceries at my car. I have three young children (1, 3, 5), so trying to shop and bag groceries and manage my kids at aldi has been terrifying! But with your tip, we had a great shopping experience. I loaded the boys in the car, kept my baby in the trunk area, and bagged in a flash. And my kids were safe, happy, and snacking the whole time!
And we have to drive an hour to Aldi, so I felt extra accomplished! Thanks so much

Ohh, I think I actually mentioned that on an Instagram story!
That's so smart to do that with small kids in tow. Mine were all out of car seats when I started shopping at Aldi, but I can imagine how nice it is to bag with your kids all strapped into their seats.

You could try eating cloves of garlic. My grandma used to do this daily but she did smell a little funny.

I see you are also a watch-tv-when-sick person. oooh. I have to say that while I do not at all enjoy being sick, once I accept that I am sick and decide to stay in bed, I get a little bit excited, maybe giddy oh dear, because i allow myself to watch tv/movies/netflix with impunity which I do not do otherwise because waste of time/tired/work/etc. So it feels luxurious to be in bed, sipping tea and just watch a movie. I enjoy that little moment even in the midst of the fever. :)

Yes, I hardly ever watch TV when I'm well! But I make up for it in spades when I do get sick. ;)

Yeah, I was just saying to Mr. FG that it's been an unusually rough year for me healthwise. Usually I'm pretty healthy, but this past year I've caught a lot of random stuff.
I'm kind of wondering if my normally fabulous immune system has perhaps not recovered from the course of antibiotics I got after my nose surgery last year. I hadn't been on antibiotics for a decade before that, and maybe the antibiotics knocked my good bacteria for a serious loop.
I probably should get myself some probiotics. And if only I liked drinking kombucha, I'd do that! Heh.
