Edit: I’ve just heard that they might also be interested if you live in the DC area, so if that’s where you make your home and you fit the description, send off an email!
A producer for NHK Japan just wrote me to see if I knew anyone who fit this description:
I’m looking for a professional living in the tri-state (NY/NJ/CT) area in their mid 20s to 60s who has decided to cut back across the board in their expenditures and who plans to continue doing so even after any economic recovery. Because this would chronicle spending changes due to the recession, the person would have had to change their habits during the course of the recession.
Is there anyone out there in the NY/NJ/CT area that fits the bill? If you do and you’re interested send an email to david.savino@nhkny.com

I was about to tell you about a Japanese TV show about being frugal.. They take two celebrities put them in separate apartments(which are controlled)that are pretty much the same, same appliances, lighting system etc. They give them a budget for the duration of their stay. Everyday someone comes in with utilities bills, and the rest of the money is spent on food and whatever. The person/team that has more money at the end of it is the winner.
It's so fun to watch them do their frugal things, many amazing tips. You could really be in a show like that ! Would be a nice way to share your frugal ways. Do they have a show like that in the states? Not that I know of, maybe they should start promoting these values. The world could really use more people like you ! :)
