Menu and grocery spending

The cow we get our milk from is going to have a calf soon, so there will be no more milk from the farm for a few months now. And I didn’t make it to the farmer’s market either, so the only spending I did was at Weis. I was hoping for a really low week this week, but I spent $78(I try to spend between $80 and $100 a week). So, I’m only $2 into making a dent into last week’s over spending. Oh well…I’m hoping to have a nice lean week next week. 🙂

Here’s what I’m making with my $78 groceries.

Saturday

  • we’re having sort of a use-up-food night….I have some leftovers, and I also have some meat for steak sandwiches that I need to use. So, steak subs, leftovers, green beans, and corn are what we’ll be eating.

Sunday

  • Pancakes(I have an overload of buttermilk at the moment)
  • Orange Juice

Monday

  • Fried Squash
  • Grapes
  • Green salad

Tuesday

  • Shrimp salad sandwiches on buns
  • orange slices
  • steamed green beans

Wednesday

  • Aussie Chicken
  • Red Grapes

Thursday

  • Chicken and Shrimp Tikka Masala
  • Peaches

Friday

  • Grilled Pizza(I know I had this on the menu very recently, but it got bumped and I never did make it!)

Tobye, it's a Cook's Illustrated recipe(of course! lol) and I haven't actually tried it yet. I'll let you know tomorrow if it's any good and if it is, I'll share the recipe. :)

Do you have a recipe for the shrimp salad? Sounds like that would be a good meal that my girls at least would eat!
