Anyway, the jars in that post are from the soy candles that Grove Collaborative sells.
Although I didn’t realize this until recently, paraffin candles aren’t super awesome to burn inside your house because they pollute the air.
But Grove sells some great long-burning (70 hour) soy candles, which do not emit chemicals that paraffin candles do (like benzene).
I really love the vanilla bean + sandalwood scent and also the eucalyptus + spearmint. But Lisey is partial to the blood orange scent. 😉
And right now, they still have some of the fir, cedar + spice scent, which they brought out around the holidays.
Grove also has some other soy candles available (from Mrs. Meyers and Clean Mama), but the Grove ones are my faves.
Where was I going with this?
Oh, right. So, once you get the wax out of the Grove jars, they’re ready for reuse, but the lids are still rather scented (even after a run through the dishwasher).
And no one wants food that smells like vanilla bean + sandalwood.
However!
The jars openings are exactly the same as standard Mason jar lids.
So, you can use regular Mason jar lids, or the lids from grated Parmesan cheese (which yes, I know is kind of not really good Parmesan, but Zoe loves it on her spaghetti. 😉 )
Sweet.
You can use the jars for storing leftovers, holding candy or nuts, for a single-serving of yogurt, for homemade salad dressings, a small food gift…anything you need a small glass container for!
And of course, if you’re not using the jars for food purposes, you can just reuse the metal lid the candle came with. Lisey’s using jars to hold her spare change.

Kristen, thanks to your tip about the Parmesan cheese containers I now use one to store the baking soda I use when I scrub pots and pans. I just by the bulk bag of baking soda and refill my container as needed. Works great!

Lots of ad-based content lately. I don't begrudge your attempts to make some money, but a line in the header noting selling-based posts would be helpful. The frugality of $13 candles is debateable.

I love glass jars. They make everything look so much classier. I buy Bonne Maman jelly on Amazon just so I can reuse the jars (because I don't eat sugar, I don't eat jelly - but the French jars with the cute Frenchy lids!).

Oooh, neato! Thanks for the tip. I love that you find ways to reuse those containers instead of throwing them out. I've started collecting our tin cans to do craft projects. I usually use them as pencil holders on desks and whatnot. I'd like to try my hand at DIY luminarias with the tin cans that we can reuse for summer barbecues.
