I got an email yesterday from Ting, announcing that they have a pretty great Black Friday deal coming up.
When you buy a select phone from Ting (they have three to choose from, including an iPhone 7) and activate it on their network, you can get up to $300 in Ting credit.
This means you can get a new phone for as little as $69 after the credit!
(The $69 option would be especially good if you need to get a basic phone for a teen.)
Mr. FG’s phone is kind of a dinosaur and is starting to have some issues, so I think we are going to go ahead and upgrade him on Black Friday with the Ting deal.
Since we use Ting every month, the $300 credit is just as good as cash to us, which makes this offer pretty hard to pass up.
The sale isn’t up and running yet, but I wanted to give you a heads up about it so that you can think about it (I don’t make purchases like this on impulse and you probably don’t either!)
You can read more details about it here on Ting’s blog, and I’ll remind you on Friday when the sale is live.

Ooh, thanks for the head's up! Great timing! My husband and I just decided yesterday that our 13-year-old will be getting her first phone for Christmas (after an after-school activity was cancelled and contacting us proved to be difficult since she doesn't have one ....). For whatever it's worth to your readers, I recently purchased the Moto E4 Plus from Ting and it's soooo much better than my previous phone. I'm more of a functional user (I'm not into social media, gaming, and so on) so for me, the phone is perfect (it's one of the phones Ting is featuring in their Friday sale).

We're going out to buy a new phone for my daughter, who has been using a third-time hand-me-down 4s iPhone for several years. The screen finally cracked, it's her 18th birthday, and we decided she's deserving of her first time ever new phone--she's chosen an older model iPhone (7).
Costco had a BOGO deal and someone else had $300 off. BUT, both deals required you to activate a new line. We don't need a new line--everyone in our family has a line already. In the end that would cost more than the "deal". So be sure to read the offers carefully. We will pay full price for a brand new phone and get our money's worth out of it.
P.S. the phone companies usually charge an "activation fee" but sometimes you can talk them out of it.
