Want to take better holiday photos? Tips inside!

When I shared my tips for making great photo books, you all asked for some photo-taking tips.   I made a huge list of photo-related issues you wanted help with, and I really am working on putting together a series to answer those questions.

But to hold you over for the moment, I wrote up a post with 7 tips for taking better holiday photos (and some of the tips apply to photography in general!).

And because I think photography posts are way more fun with examples of what NOT to do, I poked around in my photo archives and dug up some really not-winning photos of my own.   😉

Like, um, this one.

(Psst….at the end of the post is a 5-photobook giveaway.   Go enter to win one!   It would make a great Christmas gift for someone on your list.   Or, you know, for yourself.   😉 )

P.S. I got an email yesterday about a site called BuckBooks, which has daily 24-hour $0.99 ebook flash sales.

Today they’re offering a whole bunch of paleo ebooks by leading paleo authors. I know some of you eat paleo, so I thought I’d throw it out there.

The cookbooks have tons of photos, so they fall into the $1.99 large file size bucket, but the books about paleo are $0.99 each.

You can see all the offerings here.

(I don’t personally eat paleo, but since paleo books often offer a variety of whole food recipes, I do find them useful!   And I love to read the NomNomPaleo blog.   Speaking of which, I know Michelle from NomNom Paleo recommends The Ancestral Table, and I know it has BEAUTIFUL photography inside.)
